Sister Lucille Vadnais, CSC (Sister M. Jacqueline-Marguerite), 84, of Manchester, died October 15, 2004, at Holy Cross Health Center, Manchester NH.
Born in Springfield MA on September 11, 1920 she was the daughter of George and Eva (Ouellette) Vadnais.
Sister Lucille entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1940 and made her final profession in 1947. She served in the Congregation for 64 years. Sister Lucille earned a Bachelor degree in Music from Notre Dame College, Manchester NH. She served as a musician for several years in Adams and Springfield, MA; Manchester, Suncook, Somersworth, Rollinsford and Nashua, NH. She was a House Mother in one of the student residences at Notre Dame College from 1978 to 1982. In her later years of active ministry she was full-time librarian in Springfield, MA.
In 1993 Sister Lucille was stationed at St. George Manor in Manchester, NH where she did volunteer services. She was later transferred to Holy Cross Health Center where she resided until her death.
Family members include 4 sisters; Anna Marie Vadnais, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Mrs. Wallace Devine, of Wilbram, MA, Mrs. Alice Poirier, of South Hatley, MA, Mrs, Jacqueline Dailey, of Cumberland, RI; a brother, Richard Vadnais, of Chicopee, MA; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday October 19, 2004 in the Chapel of St. George Manor.
Burial took place in St. Augustin Cemetery.
