Obituary

Mr. Carl William Gentry, beloved husband of Ida Mary (Annacone) Gentry and a resident of Lawrence for more than 30 years, died at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He was 88 years old.
Carl was born in Schuyler, Virginia on October 13, 1925. He entered the US Navy at Newport, Virginia on September 28, 1943 and received his honorable discharge from Boston on April 10, 1946. He had attained the rating of Seaman First Class and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with one star. He worked in the Security field for many years.
Besides his beloved wife Mary, with whom he celebrated their 68 wedding anniversary this past September 30th, he will be very sorely missed by his loving children; Carl W., Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Gentry of Connecticut, Richard Gentry and his fiancée Maureen Oliver of Maine, Robert and his wife Pamela Gentry of Lawrence, and Elaine and her husband Edward Arion of Minnesota, grandchildren; Carleen, Marlena, Matthew, David, Elizabeth, and Ryan, great-granddaughter; Isabella and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father-in-law of the late Gail Gentry, and Maureen Gentry.
