William Otis “Buddy” Dowdy, 56, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Waterloo Cemetery in Chula, Irwin County, GA.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 28, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Buddy was born on August 15, 1957 in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Otis Emory Dowdy and Jessie Elva Harper Dowdy, who survives of Fitzgerald. He worked for 30 years in the construction with, Ross of Georgia, and was a member of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three sons, William Danal Dowdy, Robert Emory Dowdy and Anthony Wayne Dowdy all of Fitzgerald; Nine grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Joe Dowdy; three sisters, Sue Handley, Carrie Guy and Levie Lunsford all of Fitzgerald. His father Otis Emory Dowdy preceded him in death.
