Helen (Azevedo) Antao, age 63 of Prospect, CT, Viera, FL and formerly of Fall River and S. Windsor, CT, passed away Jan. 23, 2014 in Florida. She was the wife of John M. Antao. Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Maria (Azevedo) Azevedo Jr. Helen worked for almost 30 years in the Insurance Industry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 2 daughters: Alicia Ann Barger (husband Matthew) of Washington, D.C. and Carla-Marie Wirta (husband Matthew) of Avon, CT; grandchildren: Leandra E. & Aaron W. Barger and Preston M. Wirta; siblings: Joseph and Manuel Azevedo, and Maria J. Carvalho all of Swansea, Laurenio Azevedo of Ludlow, and Ana Maria Rebelo of Somerset; several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Octavio & Antonio Azevedo.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on WEDNESDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Somerset at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
