Joan Bolen Prestage, age 80, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. She was born January 13, 1934 in Paris, MS to the late Jim and Floyd Ragland Bolen. Joan was employed for years as a seamstress for Rice Stix, then later worked as a sales clerk at Fred’s in Water Valley, MS. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden, was a lively, humorous lady, loved traveling and adored her children. Joan was a member of Paris Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery in Paris, MS.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Barbara Rounsaville (Jamie) of Water Valley, MS; her son, Barry Prestage (Shirley) of Munford, TN; her sister, Sarah Norris of Coldwater, MS; her brother Charles Bolen (B.C.) of Niceville, FL; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Prestage.
