Obituary

Roland J. Geloran, age 58, of Brockton, died January 23, 2014 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband for 35 years of Michelle A. (LeBlanc) Geloran. Born in Malden and raised in Brockton, Roland was the son of Marjorie J. (Ginivan) Geloran of East Bridgewater and the late Francis W. Geloran. Roland attended Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School and enlisted in the Army at the age of 17. Following his military career, he had been employed in construction for over 30 years, as the owner of T&P Builders of Brockton and East Bridgewater and Quality Construction of Brockton, and by Boger Construction of Chelsea. Roland was a strong willed, but patient man who enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, NASCAR and NHRA races and camping with the Wompatuck Group.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his son Sean Geloran and his wife Cecilia of Brockton and daughter Mauritha Sidebottom of Wareham; four grandchildren Brandon and Zachary Geloran and Jacob and Benjamin Forrette; four step-grandchildren Anthony Freeman, James and Alyissa Fitzsimmons and Angelina Goupil; four sisters Claudia Wilson and her husband Robert of Florida, Kimberly Grooms and her husband Lester of Florida, Francine O’Connell and Daniel Tibbets of Whitman, Mary Davidson and her husband James of Weymouth, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ann Sullivan and James Geloran.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 3-8pm with a funeral service at 6:30pm. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday in Lakeview Cemetery, Wayland, MA. Donations in Roland’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
