Obituary

Mr. Robert Michael Logan, affectionately known as “Logan”, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Platt’s Belair Rd. Chapel with Father Mike Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Michael was born in Augusta, GA on December 10, 1973. He was the Quality Control Supervisor at Georgia Ironworks (GIW) in Grovetown, GA with an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by GIW and was a highly respected colleague and mentor. He took pleasure in teaching and training his coworkers. Michael took pride in his career and was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking out, bon fires, and anything to do with being outside among family and friends. Michael, his dad, and brothers were best friends and built a lovely barn together with an apartment upstairs and a beautiful pond “Logan’s Locke”. Michael had a strong passion for music, especially old country western tunes and enjoyed singing and dancing in the moonlight. Michael was one of a kind and words cannot fully explain what a beautiful person he was inside and out. He was humble, sympathetic, and kind while also maintaining an outstanding sense of humor. He was the type of person that would stop everything and give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was a vibrant person who love life and loved to help people. Even in Michael’s passing he took great delight from the heavens by helping four different people live on, thanks to his beautiful gift of organ donation. A flag was flown in honor of his donorship to Georgia Regents Medical Center on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

Michael was the beloved son of Michael and Teresa Logan of Grovetown, GA, cherished brother of Patrick Brian Logan and Timothy Ryan Logan (Marla). Proud and loving uncle to Christopher Patrick, Jonathan Blake, Richard Jacob, Christian Ray, Trenton Ryne, niece Aubrey Grace, dear nephew, cousin, and treasured friend to many.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 7:00PM until 9:00 PM.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the SADS Foundation (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes), 508 E. South Temple, Suite #202, Salt Lake City, UT 84102, a cause that Michael was incredibly passionate about. He wore a red bracelet to honor his dear friend, Jane, who recently received a heart transplant thanks to the grace of an organ donor. Memorials may also be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 6062, Albert Lea, MN 56007-6662 or https://wish.org/ways-to-help/giving/donate. Michael did not want the credit but quietly made many wishes come true.
