Robert P. Faria, 67, of Fairhaven died Wednesday January 22, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Susan A. (Howarth) Faria.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Alfred L. and Mary (Correia) Faria, he lived in Fairhaven all of his life.
Mr. Faria was a seafood dealer who owned and operated K & B Seafood, Bob's Restaurant, and the Seafood Market of Fairhaven.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy. He had been a member of the Varsity Club and the Livesey Club. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and UMass Dartmouth.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Katie A. Faria and her fiancé, Derek Faria of Whitman; his siblings, Alfred L. Faria, Jr. and his wife Cathy of California, and Shirley A. Marinelli and her husband John of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.; two grandchildren, Alexander and Payton; his in-laws, John and Cristina Howarth, Rebecca Howarth wife of the late Steven Howarth, Peter and Sharon Howarth, Janet and Thomas Hemingway, Lisa and Kenneth Moniz, and Vicky Pietraszek; his Godchildren, David Veronneau and Tyler Hemingway; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his beloved pet, Angie.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven. Private burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are omitted.
