Obituary

Laconia-----Velma C. Taber, 96, of 7 Chapin Terrace died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Monday, January 20, 2014. She was the widow of Aymar Taber who died in 2001.
Mrs. Taber was born August 15, 1917 in Laconia, the daughter of the late Lincoln D. and Grace (Sinclair) Fitzpatrick. On her birthday in 1944, she married the love of her life, Aymar Taber, to whom she was happily married for 57 years. She resided in Bedford, Mass. for several years before moving to Laconia in 1965. She was self-employed as a music teacher for several years, teaching students to play the organ.
Mrs. Taber was deeply loved by her sons. She also loved arts and crafts, ceramics, needle point and sewing. She was an avid lover of music and played the organ at numerous locations in the Lakes Region. She was an avid animal lover.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen A. Taber of Laconia and Lee C. Clow, Jr. of Safety Harbor, Florida; two grandchildren, Lynn Burko and her husband Mitchell of Syracuse, New York and Lisa Garcia and her husband Art of Clearwater, Florida; four great grandchildren, Max & Hayley Burko of New York and David & Sarah Garcia of Florida; one sister, Glesca Buchanan Worden of Port Charlotte, Florida; a niece, Carol Taber Wyzansky, and her husband, Stan, of Billerica, Mass. and three nephews, Kenneth Taber of Gloucester, Mass., Robert Taber, and his wife, Rinda, and their children, Genifer and Christine, all of Reading, Mass. and Michael Buchanan of Dunkirk, New York and her grand niece, Crystal Furnee and her husband, Phil, of Meredith and their children, Allison Brown and Erin Furnee of Meredith.
Calling hours will be held from 5PM to 7PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Gilford, 18 Wesley Way, Gilford.
Burial will be private.
