Alvin E. "Skip" Johnson, Jr., 67, of Anderson died January 19, 2014 at Community Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born December 16, 1946 in Davies County, Indiana to Alvin and Lillian (Brown) Johnson, Sr. and raised by his step-father, George Brown.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a supervisor at Prime Battery and production worker at Brockway Glass and Delco Remy America.
He was a member of AMVETS.
He was a hardworking family man who enjoyed his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Verilla (Norrick) Johnson of Anderson whom he married in 1981 in Chesterfield, his children, Pete Johnson; Amanda (Chad) Bouslog; Christina Johnson; Greg Bristow; Stephanie (Jeff) Granger and Jennifer Jackson; siblings, Kay (George) Soden; Shirley (Steve) McClintock; Mary Watson; his step-sister, Eileen Gibson; thirteen grandchildren: Levi Johnson; Clayton Bouslog; Hayley Bouslog; Landon Bouslog; Collin Riley; Casey Auler; Tyler Bristow; Autumn Burden; Austin Burden; Aubree Barker; Seth Jackson; Shaley Jackson, Jaden Clem; three great grandchildren, Emma Auler, Ellie Auler, Braley Bristow; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ed Brown,Bobby Brown and a brother-in-law Jim Watson.
Service will be on Friday, January 24 at 11 A.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry Hilligoss of Florida Station Church of God officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 23 from 4-8 p.m. with burial in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
