Raymond L. Lang, 74

Tewksbury-Raymond L. Lang, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Jan. 16th, 2014.

Raymond resided in Bedford MA for over 30 years with his wife Jeanne S. (Sutton).

Son of the late James Lang and beloved mother Elizabeth Achorn-Lang, Raymond was born March 8th, 1939 in Portland Maine and attended Portland High School. He graduated from Gorham State with a Bachelor of Arts degree and completed his Masters studies at the University of Maine.

Raymond retired from teaching in 2000, was a long time basketball coach for Bentley College and Burlington High School and served in the National Guard. As a respected educator who had a profound impact and positive influence on many young students’ lives, he also started the 1st Burlington High School “All Night Graduation Party”.

Raymond is survived by his daughter Lianne Viola & husband Paul of Bedford NH, Raymond Lang Jr & wife Maxine of North Attleboro MA and Sean Lang & wife Debra of Nashua NH. Step-Children Keli Ryan & husband Ray of Stowe NH, Chris Kimmins & wife Heidi of Fairport NY and Jennifer Kimmins of Lowell MA.

He also leaves his siblings Jim Lang & wife Kathleen of Maynard MA, Linda Pfleider & husband Fred of Largo FL and Mike Lang & wife Lorie of Bedminster PA.

Raymond loved spending time in the presence of his family, especially his cherished grand children Lindsay, Ryan, Anthony, Danny, Michael, Jason, Nick, Dave, Rachel, Chris, Jake, Zach, AJ, Lauren, Jared & many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots as well as having hobbies which include golf, gardening, cooking & reading.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Raymond’s memory to the Sophia Gordon Cancer Center @ Lahey Clinic 41 Mall Road Burlington, MA 01803

Relatives and friends will be received Thursday 1/23 from 4:00-8:00PM at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, MA. A memorial service will be Friday 1/24 10:30-11:30AM. Reception to follow.
