Dunbar, Kenton Smith, 65, of Louisville, KY, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2014, with his family and friends by his side. He was a member of Okolona Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He loved the Lord and fishing with his friends and family, as well as a good game of golf. He had a wonderful, laid-back sense of humor and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Quentin Dunbar.
Kenton is survived by the love of his life and soul mate of 44 years, Sharon Spencer Dunbar; two beloved children, Cynthia Taylor (Nathan), David Dunbar (Shannon); his mother, Frances (Smith) Dunbar; five beloved grandchildren, Bryson, Collin, Caden, Victoria, and Ava; a sister, Lisa Finch (Don); a brother, Barry Michael Dunbar (Brenda); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held for Kenton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home and he will lay in state at Square Oak Separate Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:30 – 2:30 C.S.T. with burial to follow at Square Oak Cemetery, Ono, KY.
