Obituary

Shirley F. (Carriero) Fielding 87, of Lawrence passed away Friday morning peacefully in her sleep. Shirley was born in Methuen, MA on December 5, 1926. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Shirley also graduated from the McIntosh School of Business and was employed at the Boston Navy Yard until she started her family. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Lawrence for most of her life.

Shirley loved to travel and her favorite destinations were Hawaii and Florida. Shirley’s favorite pastime was weekly dining engagements with her cherished girl friends. She was an avid reader and always loved to go shopping.

Shirley loved to take pictures capturing all family and friends weddings, birthdays, and holidays. Shirley’s work was displayed on the numerous calendars’ and photo albums she created and presented as gifts. She was a caring homemaker providing unconditional love for her family, friends, and all who passed through her life.

Shirley is survived by her sons Bruce Fielding and his wife Connie of Lawrence, MA. Brian and Michael Fielding of Lawrence. Alan Fielding and his fiancé Maggie Martin of Methuen and her daughter Patty Newell and husband John of Methuen. She is also survived by six grandchildren Bruce, Richard, Jennifer, Alan and Lauren Fielding and Jonathan Newell .She also leaves four great grandchildren and three nieces. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Harry T. Fielding whom she was married to for 46 years and her son Richard M. Fielding.

Relatives and friends a invited to attend calling hours on Monday January 20th from 3-7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday January 21st at 11 AM at St Patrick's Church in Lawrence with burial to follow at St Mary Immaculate Cemetery also in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers donations in Shirley's honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress Street, 5th floor Boston, MA 02210. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Fielding family with arrangements.
