Obituary

Thomas Harty, a lifelong Charlestown resident, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury following an extended illness. He was 65 years old.

Tom was born in Boston on May 24, 1948, a son of the late Nicholas Harty and Anna F. (O'Brien) Harty. The Harty family of Charlestown and the entire town was blessed with a gift from God the day Tom was born and has been their special angel all these years. Tom was a longtime client of The life Focus Center in Charlestown and has been a resident of the Zelma Lacey House in Charlestown for several years.

Tom is the loving brother of Anne Callahan and her late husband Edward of Tewksbury, Margaret Rinaldi-D'Elia and her husband Peter of New Jersey, Robert Harty and his wife Patricia of Charlestown, Helen Stanton and her husband Richard of Tewksbury, Richard Harty and his wife Barbara of Vermont and the late John Harty. He is the brother-in-law of Mary Harty-Pynne and the late Henry Rinaldi. He is the loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's Funeral on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11:30 A.M. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
