Angelina M. DiDonato, 92, of Manchester, NH passed Thursday January 16, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, Manchester. Mrs. DiDonato was born in Lawrence, MA on September 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Michael and Michelina (Cocchiaro) Spinelli. She had resided at Mt. Carmel for the past year and a half, formerly living in Londonderry, NH for many years. She enjoyed walking, crocheting, and needlework. She loved gardening and was very proud of her perennials. Mrs. DiDonato also enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting parties. It was always “open house” at Mom and Dad’s house, and she could stretch a meal to feed the flocks. She also enjoyed baking for the Londonderry Firefighters. She was described as “Fiesty”, once having wanted to take part in a protest to boycott veal in front of a local supermarket. She was compassionate and quite the conversationalist. She had a profound faith in God and loved to read her bible. Most of all, her family was everything to her. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mt. Carmel for the sensational care they gave to Angelina.
She is survived by one daughter, Marie Prime of Manchester, one son, Richard DiDonato and his wife Barbara of West Bath, ME, her daughter-in-law, Debra DiDonato of Fremont, NH, three grandchildren, Victor, Jr., Matthew and Lisa, four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Madelyn, Victor III, and Bobby, Jr. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Enrico “Rick” DiDonato in 2005, her son, Victor DiDonato in 2013 and by her siblings.
There are no calling hours. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 22nd at 11:00am in the chapel at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, 235 Myrtle St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NH Chapter, 5 Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 201, Bedford, NH 03110 or to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
