FALL RIVER …Joyce Ann (Mello) Gillet, 67, of Fall River passed away at St. Anne’s Hospital on January 14, 2013 after a long illness. She was born in Fall River the daughter of Irene (Dias) Mello and the late Arsenio “Sammy the Baker” Mello. She was the spouse of the late John “Jack” Gillet and had lived in this area most of her life. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for various nursing homes in the area. She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette’s Parish and of the former Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish. She enjoyed watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother, 2 Sons: John Gillett and Jay Gillet both of Fall River, a Daughter: Crystal Gillet of Swansea, 3 Brothers: David Mello, Steve Mello, Brian Mello all of Swansea, 2 Sisters: Colleen Furtado of Westport, Sheila Foster of Dighton, 5 Grandchildren: Corey Gillet, Casey Gillet, MiKayla Nadeau, Ryan Nadeau Jr, Justin Nadeau. She was the mother of the late Robert Gillet and the sister of the late Rosemary Mello.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to will be held Monday January 20, 2014 at 8 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave, Fall River. Interment will private. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5-8PM.
