Dartmouth – Manuel Hilario, age 87 years, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. He was the loving husband of the late Isabel (Rosario) Hilario. Manuel was born in Algarve, Portugal and moved to this area in 1967. He was the son of the late Guilhermina (Luis) and Manuel Hilario. Mr. Hilario was a well-known Fado Singer.
Mr. Hilario’s surviving family includes his children: Lourdes Hilario of Dartmouth, Eduardo Hilario of Delray Beach, FL and Edith Hilario of Port St. John, FL; 4 grandchildren: John Joia, Richard Joia, Katie Vance and Emily Vance
Mr. Hilario’s Funeral Service will be Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday evening in the funeral home from 6-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
