Alfred Ferreira, age 87, passed away at the Royal Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Braintree on Wednesday January 15, 2014. He was the husband of the late Mary (Pina) Ferreira and is survived by his son, Al Ferreira and his wife Virginia of S. Weymouth and his 2 grandchildren, Edward Ferreira of Marlboro and Valerie Ferreira of Boca Raton.
Al was born and grew up in New Bedford and lived in Brockton for 40 years. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II before graduating from North Eastern University with a Business Administration Degree. He Owned the First Printers Group in Brockton for 30 years before retiring in 2000. Alfred was a Champion Senior Olympic Volley Ball Player.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday, January 18 at 8:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Church, 72 Washington St. Weymouth Landing at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
