Obituary

BRIDGEWATER - Hazel L. (Sparks) Aker, 76, of Bridgewater, formerly of Randolph, died Tuesday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Elmer G. Aker.

Born March 20, 1928, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel J. (Johnson) Sparks.

Mrs. Aker was a homemaker and a resident of Bridgewater for 11 years.

She previously resided in Randolph for 35 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane L. Green of Carver; her son, Gregory Aker of Easton; two sisters, Olive Tumulty of Norwell and Rose Lebold of Marlboro; two brothers, John Coleman of New York and Ronald Sparks of Malden; five grandchildren, Michael P. Green, Julie-Ann Mack, Erin K. Green, Jonathan J. Aker and Jarad M. Aker; three great-grandchildren, Madeline R. Green, Dillon P. Green and Abigail V. Mack and several nieces and nephews. She was sister to the late Joseph and Kenneth Coleman, Dorothy Gray, Eileen Cobosco and June Waters.

Her funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Monday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be Sunday 3-7 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th fl., Brookline, MA 02445-7295.
