Gilmanton Iron Works----Elsie K. “Babe” King, 93, died at her home on Monday, January 13, 2014. She was the widow of Burns F. King who died April 17, 2002.
Mrs. King was born October 7, 1920 in Gilmanton, N.H., the daughter of the late Carroll and Edna (Tibbetts) Moulton. She graduated from Laconia High School, class of 1940.
Mrs. King was a longtime resident of Hartford, Connecticut before moving to Gilmanton Iron Works . She had been employed at the Travelers Insurance Co. for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include two brothers, Theodore Moulton of Gray, Maine and Stanley Moulton of Alton, N.H.; three sisters, Verna Spinney of Deep River, Conn., Louise Bradshaw of Merrimack, N.H. and Beatrice Vachon of Moodus, Conn., one cousin, Robert Tibbetts of Gilmanton Iron Works. Elsie was the aunt of 44 nephews and nieces. She also leaves her close friends Gladys “Blondie” Burbank of Lakeport, Betty Newell of Meredith and George McClary of Gilmanton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers; John Moulton, Morris Moulton, Richard Moulton, Albert Moulton and Arthur Moulton, one sister, Betty Parker and cousins Charles, Frank and Carl Glidden.
According to Mrs. King’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
