James M. Aguiar, Sr., age 89, of Assonet, passed away January 15, 2014 at Southpointe Rehab Center. He was the loving husband of Helen (Mello) Aguiar and son of the late Frank and Alexandrina (Oliveira) Aguiar. James retired as a fire fighter of the Fall River Fire Dept.
James was the loving father of James Aguiar Jr. (wife Marjorie) of Fall River, Kenneth Aguiar (wife Linda) of Assonet and Elaine Belanger (husband Arthur) Marstons Mills, MA; brother of Mary Cabral and Alice Amarello both of Fall River. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Idalina Bernardo.
