Hanson – Peter Joseph DePina 88, a longtime resident of Hanson, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 14, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to Dominga M. (Correia) DePina.
Born in Wareham, Peter was the second son of the late Zackaria and Mary (Pina) DePina.
Prior to his retirement Peter had spent his working career as a General Foreman of Welding at the former General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy.
In addition to his wife Dominga he is survived by his loving son Peter R. DePina and his wife Angela of Whitman and his sister Rose Roberts of Norton. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michelle (DePina) Montrond of Abington and Richard DePina of Whitman and his five great grandchildren Michael, Vanessa, Jordan, Angelia and Katrina, as well as many nieces and nephews.
His services will be held Tuesday January 21 at 8 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Hanson. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held Monday January 20 from 4-8 PM.
