Obituary

John J. "Jay" O'Neill, Jr., 56, of Haverhill, formerly of Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away on Monday, January 13th, 2014 in Haverhill following a brief illness.

He was born on October 28th, 1957 in Lawrence, son of the late John J. O'Neill, Sr. and Elinor (Lannon) O'Neill. Jay was educated in Saint Augustine's Grammar School and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, both in Lawrence, MA. He worked as a Lineman for National Grid for 25 years. He was a member of the Local 326 International Brothers of Electrical Workers Union and was an attendant of Sacred Heart Church in Bradford, MA.

Jay loved days spent at the Beach, he loved to travel, and was a long time member of Cedardale Health and Fitness in Haverhill. He was an avid sports fan of all the New England Teams. Most importantly Jay enjoyed and loved his family, and would always seem to be the life of the party.

His beloved dog Kiley

Jay had a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews, and his great niece and great nephew. He also leaves behind his aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Jay was predeceased by his father-in-law John Brennan and his brother-in-law Doug Grange.

A celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00, starting with a brief service at 1:00 in the Haverhill Country Club, 58 Brickett Ln, Haverhill, Massachusetts.

His burial will be private and will take place at a later date.
