Dorothea Y. (Prime) Ross died at her daughter’s home in Grafton on Monday, January 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was seventy-seven years old.
Born in Brighton, Massachusetts on November 16, 1936, she was raised by her grandparents and attended Brighton schools.
Dotty was a Natick resident for fifty-six years and a devoted and faithful member of St. Linus Church of Natick where she attended Mass everyday.
She worked as a dispatcher with Holmes Transportation of Framingham for over twenty-five years, the Town of Wayland for eight years and after her retirement, Dorothea volunteered at the Framingham Elementary Schools for five years.
She was the devoted wife of the late John L. “Jack” Ross with whom they shared forty-eight years of marriage. She met Jack at the Boston Skating Club where they loved speed skating.
Mrs. Ross also enjoyed being with her family, reading, crocheting, volunteering and going to her grandson Jack’s baseball games. Dotty always put others first.
Along with her husband Jack, she was the loving mother Cathy Teoste of Surf City, North Carolina & Susan Ward & her husband Robert of Grafton. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicole Teoste, Samantha Craiken & her husband Chris, Monica Teoste, Hannah, Jack & Sara Ward. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Saturday, January 18th at 8:00AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her beloved St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick at 9:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-7:00PM.
