Robert F. "Skip" Terrell Jr., a 30 year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown and Dorchester, entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following an extended illness. He was 81 years old.
Skip was born in Boston on April 22, 1932, a son of the late Robert F. Terrell and Madeline (Joyce) Terrell. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Mary's Parochial School and was a member of the first graduating class of Christopher Columbus High School in the North End of Boston. He enlisted into the United States Navy on March 15, 1963 and served his country with courage and pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was discharged on June 11, 1967 with the rank of Personnel Man Second Class. Skip worked as a Professional Recruiter for several technology companies in the Boston area. He was past Commander of Milton V.F.W. Post # 114 and member of the Mystic Valley Gun Club where he was Director and Membership Committee Chairman, The Charlestown Old Schoolboys Association and Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus.
Skip is the beloved husband of the late Barbara J. (Everson) Terrell. He is the devoted brother of William A. Terrell and his wife Catherine F. of Birmingham, Alabama. He is the loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and also survived by many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Skip's Funeral on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
