JOHNSON- Of Chelsea, October 11th, Myles F., Retired Water Commisioner for the City of Chelsea. Devoted husband of Mary E. (Mullen). Beloved father of Joseph F. Johnson and his wife Gloria of Saugus, Susan M. Sullivan of Chelsea, Andrew J. Johnson and his wife Cindy of Nashua, NH, Myles F. Johnson and his wife Patricia of Saugus, Brian K. Johnson and his wife Laureen of Nashua, NH and Barbara E. Johnson of Chelsea. Dear and loving brother of Rita Beckman of Scituate and the late May Sullivan, Ann Green, Kay Calef, Margaret Murray, Joan Connerty, John Johnson and his twin brother Joseph T. Johnson. Cherished grandfather of Cara Johnson, John Sullivan, Andrew Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Brian Sullivan, Katelyn Sullivan, Patrick Johnson, Kerry Sullivan, Erin Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Taryn Johnson, Meghan Johnson, Thomas Johnson and Dylan Johnson. Also lovingly survived by his great grandson Devan Sullivan as well as many nieces and nephews including his devoted medical care giver Joannie Connerty of Swampscott. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Friday morning, October 15th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Braodway, Chelsea at 9 o'clock with the Rev. Vincent Gianni, former Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Chelsea, and a close family friend officiating. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services will conclude with interment with military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Late United States Army Veteran of WWII. Special Police Officer for the City of Chelsea, Past Grand Knight and Honorary Life member of the Chelsea Council # 83 Knights of Columbus. Fourth Degree member of the Cheverous Assembly K of C, Past Chairman of the Chelsea Retirement Board, Past Advisor and Post Committee Member of the Explorer Post # 109 Boy Scouts of America, Honorary Life member American Water Works Association, Past President of the Chelsea Rotary Club, Past President St. Rose Elementary School PTA and Eucharistic Minister at St. Rose Church. Expressions of sympathy in Myles' name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Bromfield Street, Boston, MA 02108.Commissioner Johnson, aged 76, born in Cambridge and a lifelong Chelsea resident, passed away at the Youville Hospital in Cambridge on October 11th, released from Massachusetts General Hospital for rehab from a fall 3 weeks ago.
