Jack Edward Dietz, 87, of Anderson died at Countryside Manor, January 10, 2014 after a brief illness.
He was born August 11, 1926 in Anderson to Clarence and Bertha (Knotts) Dietz.
He worked production at Ward Stilson for 11 years and then Anaconda Wire & Cable 21 years before retiring in 1976.
He was a member of East Lynn Christian Church where he was active with the food bank and known as "the Candy Man" He always had a piece of candy to share with the children. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #77.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna (Ivan) Plummer of Georgia and his son, Tom (Thelma) Dietz of Anderson; sister, Zelma Trueblood of Anderson; brother, Clarence Dietz of Ohio; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan (Kaltenbrunn) Dietz died on October 29, 2013; son Steven Dietz; three sisters and two brothers.
Service will be Thursday January 16 at 12 Noon at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Susan Cameron of East Lynn Christian Church officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service. Entombment will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to East Lynn Christian Church Food Bank of Anderson, IN.
