WORCESTER___Sophie E. (Pietrewicz) Kurowski, 85, of 7 Lund St., died Monday Oct. 11, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband, Felix J. Kurowski died in 1996.
She leaves a son, Francis J. Kurowski and his wife Elizabeth of Keene, NH; a brother, Edward J. Pietrewicz of Worcester; three grandsons, Kirk Kurowski and his partner, Michelle Scammon of Derry, NH; Keith Kurowski of Hillsboro, NH; and Kevin Kurowski and his wife Kelly of Hillsboro, NH; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, her twin, John Pietrewicz, Casimir B. Pietrewicz, Anna M. Aldrin and Jennie Wojciak. She was born in Sutton, daughter of Victor and Mary (Kobilis) Pietrewicz and lived in Worcester for most of her life.
Mrs. Kurowski was a stitcher many years for Sport Guide Co., before retiring in the early 1970’s.
She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Sophie loved to knit, crochet and do puzzles. She enjoyed picnics, her church, family and her grandsons.
The funeral will be held on Friday Oct. 15, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
