Obituary

Laverne Cauley Livingston, 73, of Ben Hill County, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, January 13, 2014, at Salem Cemetery in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. and the Rev. Sonny Pate officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:30 at the funeral home on Monday.

Mrs. Livingston was born March 2, 1940, in Ben Hill County, to the late Wilton Cauley and Velma Reeves Cauley Cain. A 1958 graduate of Miller High School in Macon, Mrs. Livingston was a homemaker and a devoted Navy spouse. She served our country alongside her husband throughout his military career at many duty stations including: Connecticut, Virginia, Charleston, South Carolina, Napa, California, Blackfoot, Idaho and Hawaii. They retired home to Ben Hill County where they have lived the past 30 years. Mrs. Livingston enjoyed craft making and flower arranging and was an excellent cook. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Bill Livingston of Ben Hill County; a sister: Marlene & Bob White of Irwinville; and a brother: Marvin & Linda Cauley of Albany. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Scott Livingston and a sister: Patricia Cauley White.
