Obituary

Stephany C. Rousseau, 99, formerly of Chateau Clare and Carrington Ave., Woonsocket died Saturday morning at The Ballou Home. She was the wife of the late Eugene C. Rousseau who passed away in 1981.
Born in Bellingham, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Caroline (Struzik) Kupnicki. She was raised in Bellingham and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Mrs. Rousseau resided in Woonsocket for most of her adult life.
She was employed at a number of local businesses among them were as Credit Manager at McCarthy’s Dept. Store Credit Office, Assistant Manager at the New Park Theatre, Kresge’s Dept. Store, Najarian’s Dept. Store, Gene Boutiette Insurance Agency and Esten Insurance Agency.
Mrs. Rousseau was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Parish and volunteered her time as an aide at Woonsocket Hospital.
Stephany was a voracious reader and accomplished the feat of reading over 3,000 books on various subjects and genres. In her later years she learned to drive and embraced technology by learning to use a personal computer, email, the Internet and an IPad.
Stephany is survived by a nephews Thomas Asselin, and his wife Willene, of Atlanta, GA, a niece Sr. Shirley Leveillee, RJM of Plainville, MA, two grandnieces Jennifer Dulac, and her husband David, and Allison Black, and her husband Nevin, and four great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John, Michael, and Joseph Kupnicki, Mary Leveillee, and Edwilda Asselin.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 pm.
