Mr. Ceaford Batten, age 68, of Douglas, passed away at Rosewood Manor in Nicholls, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Batten was born June 25, 1945 in Douglas, Coffee County, Douglas, GA to the late Milton and Ellen Merritt Batten.
Mr. Batten is survived by one daughter: Kristi Batten Ruelas of Douglas and one son: Timothy Batten , Douglas, GA. one sister: Bonnie Batten Southerland, Nicholls, GA Four Brothers: David Batten, Nicholls, Ga., Virgil Batten, Lonnie Batten and Donald Batten all of Douglas, GA. five Grandchildren: Shaun Ruelas, Makayla Ruelas, Bryanna Batten, Ashley Batten and Janie Batten and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. Mr. Batten was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Batten.
The family of Mr. Batten will receive friends and family on Sunday, January 12, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 Pm at Chapel of Sims Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at a later date.
