Vincent E. McGuire, 72, of New Bedford died January 11, 2014 at Hathaway Manor after a long illness.
He was the husband of Laura A. (Jussaume) McGuire.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Vincent E. and Frances (Maloy) McGuire, he was raised in Trilby, FL and lived in Dartmouth and New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. McGuire was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
He was formerly employed as an electrical engineer at Raytheon for over 30 years.
Mr. McGuire served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was very active in D.Y.A.A. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Michael McGuire and his wife Amy of Panama City Beach, FL; Robert McGuire and Gregory McGuire, both of New Bedford and Troy Wilson and his wife Corrie of Dartmouth; a brother, Robert McGuire of Trilby, FL; and 5 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Eileen Lamb.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, January 14th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 13th from 4-8 PM. Burial will be private.
