Obituary

Normand Riendeau 87, formerly of Winthrop St. died Thursday evening in the Ballou Home. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Jean Baptiste and Marie Louise (Beaulieu) Riendeau. Before retiring, he was a card tender and feeder for the former International Fibres Co. as well as many other local textile mills.

Normand was a faithful communicant of St. Ann's Church and later All Saints Church. He was an avid Red Sox fan. He was also a self-taught musician who became a very proficient guitarist and harmonica and spoon player. Normand enjoyed playing and listening to traditional French-Canadian music, especially listening to French-Canadian music programs on local radio. He also enjoyed visiting relatives in Quebec with his brother.

He is survived by his brother Jean Leo Riendeau of Woonsocket, as well as many nieces and nephews. Normand was also the brother of the late Liliane Houle.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00A.M. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday, 4-7 PM.
