Obituary

Marvin (Moe) Millikan, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 10, 2014.
Marvin was born in Santa Paula on May 29, 1927 to Luther and Mattie Millikan. He was the sixth of seven children. Marvin was a member of the Santa Paula High School Class of 1949 and has been a supporter of the school for many years.
Marvin worked as a welder for over 40 years in the oil fields throughout the Ventura County area, employed by Reed & Lang, H&H Oil Tools and Adobe.
After retiring in 1997 at the age of 70 he enjoyed traveling along the Central Coast Beaches and taking photos. His love of photography was passed on to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed California History visiting historic sites throughout the state. Trips to the Punch Bowls and local mountains were favorite activities with the grandkids whom remember him as “Grandpa Welder.” When feeling ravenous Marvin could be found at the Sportsman in Ventura. Dogs and cats were always a part of his life and he leaves behind his best friend Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Gladys, Jessie, Wave, Thelma and Loye, and brother Melvin.
He is survived by his former spouse Marian, Sons: Ted (Lisa) Caliouette, Marty and Mark, Daughters: Mella Griffin, Marla (Larry) Davison and Mariann (David) Romero, Grandchildren Shawn Caliouette, Michelle McMahan, Mandy Goforth, Marvin Millikan, Derrick Rich, Darin Rich, Brandi Millikan, Daniel Davison, Alyssa Romero and Michael Romero. Marvin had 15 great grandkids.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday at 1:00pm, January 15, 2014 in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE 757 E. Main St., Ventura. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marvin’s memory to SPARC (Santa Paula Animal Rescue). SPARC website http://www.santapaulaarc.org
