Obituary

Primo Tarini, 102, of New Bedford died Thursday January 9, 2014 at the Royal of Fairhaven after a brief illness.
The son of Serafino and Anna (Bracci) Tarini, he was born and resided in New Bedford. He was the widower of Eleanor (Borghi) Tarini.
He is survived by his sons, Ramon P. and Peter R., both of New Bedford, Albert R. and his fiancée Branka Beslic of Rockaway, NJ, and David R. and his wife Deborah of New Bedford; his brother, Richard and wife Lillia of Lawton, VA; and his sister, Albina Gagliardi of New Bedford. He also leaves seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father-in-law of the late Rosalie (Pineau) Tarini, and brother of the late Arthur, Joseph, and Albert Tarini.
Having a fondness for the Clasky Common (Holy Acre) neighborhood where he was raised, Mr. Tarini was involved and aided as a historical resource in the revitalization of the area.
Mr. Tarini retired from the Giusti Baking Company after 46 years of service.
A devout Catholic, he was a communicant of St. Lawrence Martyr Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus McMahon Council 151, and a Fourth Degree member of the Humberto Cardinal Medeiros Assembly.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday January 17, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham.
