WORCESTER

Virginia F. “Ginna” McCart, 60, of 16 Friedel St. formerly of 40 Reed St. died Monday, Oct. 11 in UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus.

She leaves three sisters, Marie E. wife of James C. Donahue of Worcester, Janice A. Handlin of Oxford and Susan L. Miller of Worcester; two sister-in-laws, Patricia McCart and Lorraine McCart; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 2 brothers, William J. and Paul F. McCart predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester daughter of James E. and Sarah T. (Ledford) McCart and lived in Worcester all her life. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School. Ms. McCart worked as a toll test technician at New England Telephone Company and then as an operator at UMass Memorial Healthcare. She was a member of the Pioneers of America. Ginna was very devoted to her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and was very active in the lives of her family.

The funeral will be Thursday, Oct. 14 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St. with a mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
