Brenda Powell, 67, of Ocilla, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Heritage Healthcare of Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Pastor Randall LaRoche officiating.
Ms. Powell was born February 6, 1946, in Ocilla to the late Eston & Reba Bates Roberts. She was a 1964 graduate of Irwin County High School. She was a former secretary and had lived in Utah. She loved to gamble, especially play the slot machines, and loved college football and the Florida Gators. She was an avid Irwin County Indian fan and a loving grandmother. She was a member of CrossPointe Church.
She is survived by a son: Brand Hilton and friend, Deidre Freeman of Ocilla; two grandsons: Hunter Hilton and Dalyn Hilton, both of Utah; a brother: Billy & Bonnie Roberts of Ocilla; and two sisters: Betty & Joe Hawes and Anne & Larry Day, all of Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Taylor Hilton.
