David Calvillo “Chato” Ramos, 87, of El Rio, entered eternity on January 9, 2014. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
A celebration of Chato’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 17 at 4050 Market St. in Ventura. Pastor Larry Reichardt of South Coast Fellowship will be officiating.
David was born in Santa Paula, CA to Emma and David Ramos on March 23, 1926. He was a WWII veteran and paratrooper in the US Army. Returning from the service he married Alice Martinez and was committed to her in marriage for 66 years.
He was preceded in death by son, David P. Ramos, parents, David and Emma Ramos, sister, Viola Sanchez, and brother, Ralph Ramos.
David is survived by his wife Alice, children Liz Ayala (Donald); Danny Ramos; Charlie Ramos; Fred Ramos (Maryann); Betty Castaneda (Bobby); Sandie Bautista (Ray) , sister Madeline (Nena) Sabedra, 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Thank you for being such a man of honor and a man whose life was hidden with Christ.
