Susan Owens Neal
Augusta, GA – Susan Owens Neal, wife of Lenson Green Neal, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, January 13, 2013 at the Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Robert Duncan Fain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parrish Hall.
Susan was born on January 29, 1949 in Augusta, GA, the only daughter of John Noel Owens and Helen Crews Owens. She attended the Academy of Richmond County and Augusta College. Susan married Lenson Green Neal on July 3, 1971 at St. Paul’s Church in Augusta.
In addition to her husband, Lenson, survivors include her daughter, Ashley Neal Pritchett (Mark); her granddaughter, Helen Randall Pritchett; her brother, Thomas Charles Owens (Fredda) of Knoxville, TN; her uncle, Charles W. Crews (Kathy) of Staples, MN; her brother-in-law, Gene Neal (Jane); her nieces, Kimberly Neal Hillis (Michael) of Wilmington, NC, Lauren Owens Dasher (Bert) of Charleston, SC, and Meredith Owens Toler (Bruce) of Charleston, SC; her nephew, John Christopher Neal of Macon, GA; her great-nieces, Martha Jane Shepherd and Sophie Morgan Shepherd both of Wilmington, NC, Hadley Michele Neal, Tallulah Katherine Neal, and Georgia Cassidy King all of Macon, GA, and Loulie Dasher of Charleston, SC; her great-nephews, Guy Maxwell Neal of Macon, GA, and William Owens Toler of Charleston, SC; and also many dear friends.
Susan was a life-long Episcopalian. She was baptized and married at St. Paul’s Church and then became a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA or a charity of one’s choice.
