Amelia Alvis, 90 of La Conchita, passed away on Tuesday afternoon January 7, 2014 as a result of injuries from a fall in her home.
Amelia was born December 5, 1925 in Morgan Hill, California. She was a resident of both Santa Maria since 1989 and La Conchita since 1982. She was a supervisor for over 30 years including 14 years at Hughes in Los Angeles.
She was an avid gardener and thoroughly enjoyed working outside. She loved spending time with her family.
Amelia is survived by her beloved husband Dane W. Alvis; Amelia and Dane celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary New Years Eve, 2013.
She leaves a son Dan E. Alvis of La Conchita; grandchildren Tucker and Sierra; great-grandchildren. Her son Michael Anthony Alvis was killed January 10, 2005 in the La Conchita Mud Slide. Family and Friends are invited to visiting hours from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Friday January 10 and Saturday January 11, 2014 in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, Ventura.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 13, 2014 in the Chapel of Santa Barbara Cemetery 901 Channel Drive, Santa Barbara, California.
