Thomas Phillip O’Mara 57, of Tampa Florida, formerly of Abington, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday January 2nd after a short illness in Tampa, Florida.
He was the beloved son of Mary K. O’Mara and the late Robert A. O’Mara of Quincy, father of Jacqueline, David and Michael O’Mara, brother of Robert O'Mara of Hillsboro, NH and Donald O'Mara of Natick as well as his sister Darlene of Norwell.
He was a graduate of South Shore Vocational High School and was a licensed MA Master Electrician. He went on to graduate from SIU Merchant Marine School in Piney Point, Maryland and sailed for four years as a pump man on various merchant vessels.
He enjoyed his friends, family and loved ones and the laughter and memories they shared in his short but full life.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Thomas on Saturday January 11th at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman.
There will be a luncheon at the Rockland Golf Course, 276 Plain Street, Rockland following the service.
