WORCESTER___Martha A. (Czajczynska) Morawski, 89, of 22 Barrett Ave., died Saturday Oct. 9 in Holy Trinity Nursing Home, 300 Barber Ave. Her husband, Chester C. Morawski died in 1991.
She leaves a daughter, Carol M. Benedict and her husband Robert I. Of Northborough; three grandchildren, Cynthia wife of Erik Gold, Debra wife of Stephen Zaorski and Paul Benedict and his wife Shawn; a great-grandson, Jacob Gold, two step sisters, Phyllis Luedke and Marge Kridler both of Wisconsin; nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Kwiatkowski and a step sister, Peggy Kuehl. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of Karol and Mary (Sokolaska) Czajczynski and has lived in Worcester 82 years.
Mrs. Morawski was a salesperson many years and worked in the drapery dept. of Denholm and McKay before retiring in 1968. Previously, she worked for the J.C. McInnis Department Store. During World War II Martha worked for the WPA. She attended St. Mary’s Schools.
She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking, cake decorating, flower arranging and quilting.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday Oct. 12 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
