FALL RIVER… Bertha T. (Bernier) LaBonte, 82, of Fall River passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at her home.
She was the wife of Roger LaBonte for 63 years.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Antone and Alma (LaFlamme) Bernier and was a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. LaBonte was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church, Assonet. She was employed as a seamstress at the former Stella Ann Frocks for 30 years and enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo.
Along with her husband, survivors include a daughter: Therese “Terry” Theberge Nientimp of Fall River, a son: Robert R. LaBonte of Westport, a sister: Doris Pineau, 3 grandchildren: Jamie LaBonte and his wife Dione, Gregory LaBonte and his wife Jean and Stephen Theberge and his wife Bernadette, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Bernier.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held January 9, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Bernard’s Church, 30 South Main St. Assonet, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha’s name may be made to Southcoast VNA, Hospice Palliative Care, 200 Mill Rd. Fairhaven, MA 02719.
