Constance H. “Connie” (LaBonte) Desgrosseilliers, age 87 of Brockton, died Friday January 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Manor after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond J. Desgrosseilliers. Connie was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Archille and Ida (Gagne) LaBonte and remained a lifelong resident of the city. She had been a long time resident of Caffrey Towers and often played the piano for the residents.
Connie retired from the Brockton Hospital as a respiratory technician after 29 years of service. She had been a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she had been a member of the St. Ann Sodality. Connie loved all music and learned to play the piano by ear. She also enjoyed dancing and bowling.
Connie is survived by her three sons Paul Desgrosseilliers and his wife Judy of Brockton; Archie Desgrosseilliers and his wife Patricia of Bridgewater and Ron Desgrosseilliers, of Plymouth. Connie leaves five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the sister of Albert and Henry LaBonte both of Brockton; Rita Call of Brockton and the late Roland, Rudolph, Hervey and Rene LaBonte and Jeannette Parker. She also leaves her sister in law and best friend Irene Presseault of Brockton and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Tuesday 4-8 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
