Lawrence – Esther P. (Findeisen) Ralph, 92, of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem, NH. She was the wife of the late Bernard A. Ralph.
Born in Methuen on April 1, 1921, she was the daughter of Alfred and Annie (Heinrich) Findeisen. She attended Central Grammar School and graduated from the Edward F. Searles High School in 1939. She then attended and graduated from the McIntosh Business School. She worked as an error correction officer with the Internal Revenue Service in Andover for 23 years until her retirement in 1984. Esther was very active with the Methuen Senior Center, including being on the bowling team and line dancing at the Center. She also enjoyed traveling and was a sports enthusiast, but the great love of her life was her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Esther will be deeply missed by her son, Kenneth A. Ralph and his wife, Peg of Salem, NH; 5 grandchildren, Bernard A. Ralph III and his wife, Michelle, David Ralph and his wife, Nadine, Brenda Smiser and her husband, Frank, William Ralph, and Kenneth A. Ralph and his wife, Mary; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Bernard A. Ralph.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Esther’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 4 – 7 PM. Her funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
