REV. GEORGE MONROE DAVIS, 68, passed away January 2, 2014.
He had a Master of Divinity Degree. He served the Lord and was an ordained United Methodist Minister for over 30 years.
He was a Knight Templar of the Masonic Order; a member of Russellville Masonic Lodge #17; Louisville United Methodist Conference; Spiritual Director of the Emmaus Community; Volunteer Chaplin of Residents Encounter Christ Program; and a very active member of Mosaic United Methodist Church.
He was a disciple of Christ in every way and devoted his life to God’s calling.
Survivors include his sons, Dr. Brian W. Davis, Dr. Troy A. Davis (Kristin), Eric H. Davis; one grandchild on the way; his brother, Harrison Davis; half brother, Isaac Routt; half sister, Nancy Henderson; and the mother of his children, Nellene Davis.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 – 9 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
