Obituary

WORCESTER___Adolph B. “Artie” Naumiec, 90, formerly of 123 Holden St., died Friday Oct. 8 in Autumn Village Nursing Center. His wife of sixty-three years, Sophie M. (Pacanowski) Naumiec died in 2000.

He leaves two daughters, Carolyn wife of Ronald Gonyea of Holden; and Elaine C. wife of Thomas Keevan of Douglas with whom he lived, one brother, Francis Naumiec of Millbury; three sisters, Florence Callahan, Theresa Courtney and Wanda Koskie all of Worcester; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers Edward and John Naumiec and three sisters, Statia Bogigian, Betty Sutton and Mae Legere Skog. He was born and raised in Worcester son of Joseph and Petronella (Chomicz) Naumiec and lived here until moving to Douglas six months ago.

Mr. Naumiec was a machine operator twenty-five years for the General Electric Co., in Ashland and retired in 1976. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the Greendale Retired Men’s Club and he attended St. Mary’s School.

The funeral will be held on Monday Oct. 11 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday Oct. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
