Lorraine H. (Lavallee) Raymond, 78, of Manchester, died January 1, 2014 at her home after a brief illness.
She was born in Goffstown on May 1, 1935 to Oscar and Tharcile (LeBel) Lavallee. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Lorraine worked at Zyla’s and in food services at the Weston School both in Manchester for many years. She also was a homemaker who raised seven children.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with family and friends, trips to Las Vegas and time spent with her family.
She was married to Andrew P. Raymond who died in 1991. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Doris Hood in 2012 and by six siblings, Donald Lavallee, Paul Lavallee, Roger Lavallee, Rita Poirier, Robert Lavallee and Normand Lavallee.
The family includes six children, Linda Raymond, Roger Raymond, and Karen Raymond all of Manchester, Michael Raymond of Hooksett, and Gary Raymond and William Raymond both of Manchester; a daughter in law, Luanne Raymond of Manchester, who was a caregiver to Lorraine during her illness; a son in law, David Hood of Manchester, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; seven siblings, Jeanne Cere, Claire Boisvert, Doris Croteau, Dorothy McQueeney, Connie Langlois, Oscar Lavalle and Ronald Lavallee; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, January 6, 2014 at St. Pius X Church, corner of Candia Road and Sarto Street, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
