Jean Marie (Roderick) Theriault 81, of Salem, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Abbott House in Lynn, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Norman H. Theriault.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Roderick, Jr. and Charlotte (Boyd) Roderick. Throughout her career Jean worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter. She first worked for Walter Conway Insurance Co. of Salem and eventually retired from Sterling Insurance Agency of Beverly. She was a former member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women and was a member of the Salem AARP.
In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother she was also very close to her brothers and sisters. She was truly grateful that she was able to enjoy extensive world wide traveling with her friends and sisters throughout the years.
Jean is survived by a son, Peter M. Theriault and his wife Cynthia C. and their daughter Grace Theriault all of Salem, three sisters, Nancy Devine of Marblehead, Sally Provencher and Charlotte Bucco both of Salem, a brother, Arthur Roderick, III of Beverly, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Shirley Lee and brother David Roderick.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. with her funeral service to be at 5:00 P.M. Burial at a later date will be private.
