Abel Freitas, age 92, of Somerset passed away on January 2, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Medeiros) Freitas and son of the late Albert and Elisa (Costa) Freitas. Abel was a color mixer for River Edge Printing in Fall River, a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WW II, a past member of the Portuguese Alliance and a member of St. John of God Parish.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Gilbert A. Freitas (wife Elaine) of Somerset; a sister: Eulalia Soares of Somerset; grandchildren Christopher Freitas of Somerset, and Kimberly Pignato (husband James) of Nantucket; great grandson Chase Pignato and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Louis, Anthony, Celia and Philomena Freitas.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River MONDAY at 8:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M.
